The PTMS Music Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, registered with the State of California. The goal of the organization is to support the instrumental music program at Pacific Trails Middle School through fundraising and volunteer activities. Typical meeting tasks would be to discuss budget and fundraising, upcoming concerts and get-togethers, volunteers for various events, and much more. This year at Pacific Trails Middle School, Band will be open to beginners with no prerequisites, and will consist of students from beginners to advanced levels with mixed grade levels. We’ll be covering basic fundamentals such as proper breathing, note and rhythm reading, instrument position and performance techniques. For the experienced players, we will continue advanced performance techniques and musicality through the use of method books, appropriate concert band pieces, and other selected etudes.

We’ll be covering basic fundamentals such as bowing techniques, note and rhythm reading, instrument position and performance techniques. For the experienced players, we will continue advanced performance techniques and musicality through the use of method books, appropriate orchestral pieces, and other selected etudes.
Vocal Performance provides students with a variety of musical experiences and activities while developing skills in singing, listening, reading and writing music. Students will learn the basic skills of music like reading music and understanding musical terminology, and they will have opportunities to learn other instruments, such as piano, guitar, ukulele, and percussion instruments, while learning to sing in different languages from all over the world. Vocal Performance encourages interest in music from diverse cultures and historical periods.
